Neighbourhood Renewal in Hyndburn

What is Neighbourhood Renewal?
Neighbourhood Renewal is a locally led process, which is about reversing the decline in the quality of life experienced in the last few decades in some of our priority neighbourhoods of Barnfield, Central, Church and Springhill.
Despite England’s general wealth and success there are still many people living in communities where there are severe problems, such as high levels of crime, poor health, unemployment, low educational attainment and a poor environment.  These problems are particularly acute in Hyndburn’s four priority areas.  In Hyndburn the Neighbourhood Renewal Team work with Government Office to address these problems.
What does the Neighbourhood Renewal Team do?

What is unique about Neighbourhood Renewal?
Neighbourhood Renewal is a new approach helping deprived communities and local service providers to work together at neighbourhood level to improve and “join up” local services.  This new way of working will help to make services more responses to local needs and ensure they deliver real priority improvements and outcomes at a local level for residents.
The government has given us some money to make sure the changes happen but we also have to be accountable. This means that the community gets involved and takes action. YOU are needed to help the Neighbourhood Renewal Process for 2005 / 2006.

How can you get involved?
If you interested in improving the priority areas of Barnfield, Central, Church or Springhill and want to see changes in your area then get involved and make a difference.

Hyndburn’s Neighbourhood Renewal Team consists of four people. You can contact the Team on:
