At Sure Start Hyndburn we hold activities which focus on health issues such as ante-natal care, breastfeeding support, help with stopping smoking as well as healthy diet and exercise. We also want to help young children learn so we make sure each child has access to high quality, early education activities. These include play and learn sessions, book-start schemes, family fun activities and the Little Stars Nursery, whose ethos is all about learning through fun, encouragement and praise. Sure Start Hyndburn also recognises that adults too can improve their quality of life by developing new parenting or employment skills. We are therefore planning a range of training opportunities to meet the needs of parents, carers and the local community.
At Sure Start Hyndburn we also recognise there is a very strong bond between families and communities and we aim to help these bonds grow whenever we can. We support local community projects and we help families to access services and resources wherever we can.
