Enjoy a friendly Lancashire welcome amidst our beautiful countryside.

Take a boat trip along the Leeds and Liverpool canal as it winds its way through Hyndburn taking in open countryside, farms and townscapes.  Surely this must be one of the most relaxing ways to enjoy the area.

Work on the 127 mile long canal began in 1770, taking almost 46 years to complete.  It became a vital link in the transport of limestone, coal and textiles across the Pennines.

Today, the canal and its towpaths are used for recreation and leisure.  Visitors can enjoy cycling, boating, fishing, canoeing, barge rides or just taking a stroll.
