"Accrington Stanley, who are they?"  Who can forget the famous milk advert with two young scouse lads joking about what would happen if they didn't drink milk.  That phrase "Who are they?" sticks in people's minds; and no matter how far you wander if you mention the word Accrington, that's the phrase you'll hear.

The name Accrington Stanley is over 100 years old.  As Accrington FC, the club was a founder member of the Football League and has led a fascinating, if somewhat chequered, history ever since.

In 2003 the club gained promotion to the Nationwide Conference and enjoyed a run to the second round of the FA Cup in the same year, bringing the old club to national attention once more.
