Hyndburn lies right at the very heart of Lancashire's hill country; and contains a wonderful mix of 14 unique towns and villages, of which which Accrington is the largest. HYndburn sits within easy reach of the coast, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Manchester; making it a great base for touring. With the Ribble Valley and the West Pennine Moors within easy reach, you're never far away from beautiful countryside either. There is a host of visitor attractions throughout Hyndburn, including the Haworth Art Gallery which houses one of the most prized collections of Tiffany glass anywhere in the world. Also worth a visit are Oswaldtwistle Mills, an Aladdin's cave of crafts, gifts, fabric and much more for all the family. Also of interest are Stockley's Sweets Visitor Centre where you can see cinder toffee, sweets and caramel produced in front of your eyes. For entertainment, there's an excellent selection of pubs, clubs and restaurants in the area. Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre and Accrington Town Hall play host to a wide range of music concerts and shows, and there's an excellent range of outdoor events and festivals throughout Hyndburn all year. For those who love the outdoors, there is a huge variety of scenery to enjoy in and around Hyndburn. It only takes minutes to travel from town to countryside so you're never far from peace and quiet. For a superb, panoramic view of Hyndburn, a visit to the Coppice, Accrington, is a must. For anyone interested in the past, Hyndburn is rich in history and heritage, ranging from the Accrington Pals to the inventor of the spinning jenny, James Hargreaves. Whatever your interest, Hyndburn has lots to offer the visitor, including a warm Lancashire welcome.
