Harwood hopes hit

Great Harwood's Ribblesdale League title hopes suffered a setback  when they lost the top of the table clash at Clitheroe on Saturday.

The home side made a daunting 260-4 with skipper Neil Bolton hitting an unbeaten 108. Harwood got close but half centuries from skipper Russ Whalley (70) and professional Martin Nurse (56) couldn't prevent a 26 run defeat.

Settle stayed on Clitheroe's tail with a 118 run at New Lane against  Oswaldtwistle Immanuel. The visitors made 194-9 with Immanuel skipper Gerard Metcalf taking 5-26 but Settle professional Mohammed Hafeez followed up his innings of 65 with 6-25 to dismiss the home side for 76.

No joy either for Baxenden who went down to a 36 run defeat at Padiham. The home side made 154-9 and they then dismissed Baxenden for 118.
