Ossie Cup Hopes Ended

Oswaldtwistle Immanuel's Ramsbottom Cup hopes were thwarted at Gincroft Lane on Sunday where Edenfield romped to a 122 run win. Ex Accrington wicketkeeper Mark Burns made 77 in the home sides 207-7 and then former Baxenden paceman Liam Bones took 5-20 to rip the Immanuel innings apart as the visitors were bowled out for just 85.

On Saturday Baxenden lost to joint leaders Settle at Back Lane after professional Indira Gallage hit 80 in the home sides 200-8. Visiting paid man Mohammed Hafees then replied with an unbeaten 122 to guide Settle to a 4 wicket win.

Great Harwood got back to winning ways with a 31 run win at Ribblesdale Wanderers. Professional Martin Nurse hit 91 and skipper Russ Whalley 64 in Harwood's massive 283-6, a total that proved too much for the home side but Harwood failed to pick any bonus points as the last pair held out. Oswaldtwistle Immanuel suffered their 12th league defeat when Barnoldswick got home by 3 wickets after dismissing Gerard Metcalf's side for 126 at Victory Park.
