The ‘Stepping Out’ Project aims to help you to take your first steps in becoming more active.

You can join aprogramme of short community health walks, each led by trained volunteer walk leaders or pick up an Independent Walking Pack which includes a system of planned, self-guided, interconnecting walks around the Hyndburn area.

Make walking part of your every day life – Build a walk into your journey to work.  Get off the bus a stop earlier or park further away from the office.  Use the stairs instead of the lift or escalator – Walking up and down stairs is really good for your heart.

Save the expense of driving to school or the shops – walk instead.
