Easier ways to pay Council bills

Hyndburn residents can now make payments to the Council 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, either by phone or on the internet.

Council Tax, Business Rates, Rents, Benefits Overpayments and Sundry Debts to the council, can now be paid via the internet at  www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk
where there is a link to a secure payments site, or by ringing 01254-389178, following the simple instructions and then using the telephone keypad to enter details.

Cllr John Griffitths, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Governance said: “Customers have told us that they want alternative ways to pay their bills, they want to be able to pay them at any time of the day or night. These new services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will mean that residents can pay their bills from the comfort of their own homes. Whilst Direct Debit still remains the easiest way to pay most bills, these additional options give our customer an increased choice.

"We would encourage all customers who don’t pay by direct debit to try the new methods of payment. We’re sure they will find them easy and safe to use and far more convenient.”

For more information about the new ways to pay, or any questions, call the Cashier Team on 01254 380281.
