A new Citizens Advice Bureau was established as Accrington & District CAB in 1964, later becoming Hyndburn Citizens Advice Bureau.

6. A. The Citizens Advice service is both an employer and skills training agency with a workforce of over 27,000 people, of whom nearly 21,000 are volunteers. All advisers undergo rigorous training and can write letters, make phone calls, prioritise debts, negotiate with creditors, represent people at courts and tribunals and refer people to specialist CAB case workers and others. But you don’t have to be an adviser to be a volunteer, there are lots of other jobs such as being a member of a trustee board.
