Coleman wants big finish

ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is confident his team will win  their final Conference clash of the season at play-off certainties  Hereford on Saturday.

The Reds were hammered 4-0 by the Bulls at Edgar Street in the FA  Trophy earlier in the season and the manager has promised that Stanley  will end the season on a top note.

"I said after the Trophy game, that in the league it will be a  totally different game and I still believe that," said Coleman. "We h ad Mike Flynn sent off which I felt was harsh. We want to go there and win and finish on a high."

Striker David Brown will be returning to his former club and he will  be hoping to turn in a stunning performance which will earn him a  contract at the Interlink next season.  But Coleman admits that the season has been a disappointment as  his side can only finish as high as ninth, they finished tenth last  season, in their first season as a full-time professional club.

Coleman said: "I am disappointed in the season as a whole because,  with what we have in that dressing room, we are miles in the top five  in the league and we have underachieved. But the top and bottom of it is that we have conceded too many goals,  58 of them, and a lot of them have been individual errors. You  can't challenge for honours if you are going to concede 58 goals in  the season. There is no hiding from the fact and it has cost us.

"But I know we have got the tools to be a really strong side if we make the right decisions in the summer and there is no reason why we  can't go on and win the league next year. I want to bring some  defenders in and our priority in the summer will be working on  defending."

It is last chance saloon for a number of Stanley players who are  trying to win a contract next season.

"Some players will have to go, we are not a bottomless pit, and I  will be making that decision in the next week."

Ged Brannan returns from suspension while John Coleman will have to  watch the game from the stands after getting sent off against  Aldershot.
