Tough trip for Reds

ACCRINGTON Stanley  travel to fellow play-off chasers Exeter on Saturday looking for another vital win in their play-off quest.

The in-form Reds have lost just two of their last 11 games and have won the last four matches. This has seen them jump to sixth place in the Conference, reach the semi-finals of the Lancashire Trophy and the area semi-finals of the Conference Cup.

Now they need to make sure they continue this run in the league although they face a tough task at St James Park. The Grecians lie one point behind the Reds with two games in hand and enjoyed a glorious FA Cup win which saw them lose to Manchester United only in a replay.

"They had a great FA Cup run," admitted Reds boss John Coleman. "And it will be interesting to see if they have a fall-out from that. We did last season - we had some sterling performances in the cup and then dropped away but so far, they are doing well.

"It is another tough game for us but we need to go there and get a result. We lost 3-2 there in the final game of last season when we played well, scored two wonder goals but threw it away in the last minute. If we play like that again we won't be far off."

His strikeforce are all enjoying a rich scoring run at the moment with both Lee McEvilly and Paul Mullin having 14 goals this season in all competitions and Rory Prendergast is now up to six.

"They are all playing well and are hard for the opposition to handle when they are at their best. Now they have got to continue it."

Exeter have signed Farnborough's Ali Chabaan and have taken ex-Bristol City player Marvin Brown on trial. Striker Steve Flack has missed the last three games but is expected back for Saturday's match.

Coleman has no injury worries with Ged Brannan, who has missed the last three weeks with cracked ribs, expected back.
