Stanley aim to break Dagenham duck

ACCRINGTON Stanley need to halt a 100 per cent record at the Interlink on Saturday and see off Dagenham.

John Still's side have won both their games at Accrington over the last two seasons and are in a rich vein of form with five wins in seven league games.

Stanley's 18-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt on Tuesday against Conference North side Worskop as they crashed out on penalties and failed to reach the last eight of the FA Trophy.

And manager John Coleman was still smarting despite his side being 10 points clear at the top of the Conference table with games in hand.

"The performance wasn't good enough. Some of the players didn't try and they owe me a big performance on Saturday. Dagenham are a strong side and we want to end the sequence of wins at the Interlink. It is a massive game but every game is massive in the run-in."

Coleman is keeping his fingers-crossed defender Michael Welch shakes off a knee injury which forced him to be subbed against Worksop while Leam Richardson is still a doubt with a hamstring problem.

Defender Robbie Williams admits it will be a tough game. "They are an in-form side and are looking for the play-offs and, being top of the league, we are there to be shot at.

"We have got to stop conceding sloppy goals and get back to the clean sheets we were keeping earlier on in the season."
