Match preview and injury latest
ACCRINGTON Stanley make their first trip to the £6.4m Pirelli Stadium hoping their keeper jinx hasn't reared its head again.
The Reds have so far had a staggering eight keepers on their books as they have been thwarted by injuries and recalls.
Manager John Coleman thought he had a settled pair in Charlton loan keeper Darren Randolph and ex-Welsh international Andy Dibble. But 40-year-old Dibble injured himself midweek in the 4-0 Hyndburn Trophy win over Great Harwood leaving the Reds chief with a headache.
"He tweaked his thigh so it looks like the jinx could have struck again but hopefully, he will have treatment and be okay," said the boss.
And Coleman also revealed that he is hoping to extend the one month loan spell of Randolph, who has impressed since he came from the Premiership club two weeks ago.
"We are looking to extend it but he is a Republic of Ireland Under 19 goalkeeper and there is a European Championships where he could miss 12 days so it is something we will have to look into."
Danny Alcock, Stanley's pre-season keeper who broke his arm in a reserve game last month, is expected to be back in around six weeks.
But, keepers aside, Coleman is hoping to have almost a fully fit squad for their trip to Burton tomorrow.
The teams have a long history, having played in the UniBond League together, and the Reds have suffered in their Conference trips to the old ground, Eton Park, in the last two years. But Coleman is hoping the new ground will bring better luck for the Reds.
"We haven't tended to get good results there in our last three games," said Coleman, as there has been two league draws and one FA Trophy loss.
"Last season we were 2-0 up and had blown them away but then we tired - as we had been to Canvey Island during the week - and they came back.
"And we never recovered from that between then and the end of the season and it was the end of our promotion hopes so it will be nice to put that right."
Stanley are hoping to finally have clearance from the French FA for Benin international Romuald Boco, who Coleman is hoping will set the Conference alight.
"I don't like building people up as it is easy to get knocked down but he looks sharp, has a good attitude and appetite and has his chance," added the boss.
