Double Mission for Reds

Stanley travel to Southport’s Haig Avenue on Friday (kick-off 7.45pm), for the start of a New Year double header, vital to their promotion hopes.

Romuald Boco and Paul Mullin both picked up knocks in the 2-2 draw at Halifax on Boxing Day but both are expected to be fit to travel.

Stanley entertain Halifax on Monday (kick-off 3pm) knowing they can’t afford any slip ups with Exeter and Grays still hot on their trail.

Boss John Coleman expects his men to put on an improved performance: "When we drop down below our standards we are capable of being punished by any team. But we've got two games coming up now where we need to get back to playing the way we know we can play.

"At Halifax I was disappointed with the goals we conceded but I always believed we would create a chance because we always look likely to score.

"I gambled a bit by taking a defender off to put David Brown on, but it paid off because it was Brown who got brought down for the free kick.

"I could see Gary scoring. I fancied him for it because he's in that zone at the moment."
