ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman has described Saturday's clash with Cambridge on Saturday as "the biggest game of the season."

With several of their opponents playing each other, the Conference table toppers have a great chance to extend their six point gap at the top of the table with a victory.

"It is good to go unbeaten but if you chip in with one or two draws it doesn’t half affect your league position,” said Coleman, whose side are unbeaten in 14 games in all competitions. “That’s why it is important to win home games and that is why the Cambridge game is bordering on the biggest match of the season. There are a couple of tastey ties too with Morecambe playing Exeter and York facing Grays. Teams will drop points so a win is important.”

Mid-table Cambridge can do the double over Stanley as they beat the Reds 3-1 at the Abbey Stadium with the Reds debutant keeper Bertrand Bossu having a nightmare.

"We have a score to settle as we didn't give a good account of ourselves there," continued the boss. "This will be a difficult game as they have sprung one or two surprise results this season and maybe they thought they would have done better than they have. But they have a young side like us.

"Hopefully we will turn in a good performance and there will be a good crowd there on Saturday to cheer us on. We have got into a winning mentality and we now have to maintain it. Sometimes it can get predictable and you have to keep encouraging the players and reminding them that things can go wrong and where they can improve.

"We have a great team spirit here and everyone is rooting for each other."

Stanley's left back Leam Richardson is suspended while Steve Jagielka is still struggling with a knee injury. And Coleman has his sights on a Premership squad player and a League One midfielder and defender who he hopes to sign before the transfer window closes at the end of January.
