Stanley face bogey men

ACCRINGTON Stanley may have seen off previously unbeaten Conference promotion rivals Grays Athletic - but they now have a bigger headache in the shape of bogey team Forest Green.

The Brewers may be struggling near the foot of the Conference table but, in four league meetings with Stanley,  Forest Green have been victorious in two and lost just one.

"We haven't done well against them in the past," admitted manager John Coleman whose side could go top if they beat Gary Owers' side at the Interlink on Friday night.

"It is no good winning against Grays if you are going to lose to Forest Green and I have been telling my players all week in training to guard against that.

"It was good beating Grays but you only get three points for it. But it stops them making ground on you and we have made ground on them so that is good. We have got to keep our feet on the ground. I remember us having a great win at Dagenham and then we had a hiccup after that and we have
got to make sure we don't do it again."

Coleman is hoping the fans come out in force for the Friday night game and give the side the support they did at Grays.

"The travelling fans are magnificent. We owe a debt to them and hopefully they will make the same noise against Forest Green."

Peter Cavanagh is hoping to be in the squad as he recovers from an ankle injury while otherwise, Coleman should have a fully fit squad to choose from apart from the long term casualties like Andy Procter.

Defender Andy Tretton is back in training and should make an appearance over the next few weeks while keeper Danny Alcock hopes to be back soon, especially as Darren Randolph's loan spell from  Charlton ends a week on  Saturday.
