Geared up for fierce February

A winter weekend without a first team game seems somewhat surreal, however a Saturday off at the end of January could be ideal preparation for a busy month ahead, with some key matches coming up in February.

Firstly, we travel to take on local rivals Morecambe in the Quarter Finals of the Lancashire FA Marsden Challenge Trophy.  Last season saw the two sides meet in the final of the competition, in which we sadly had to settle for runners up, however we did gain revenge earlier this season by taking all three points in a league encounter up at Christie Park.  This Lancashire derby is always full of incident, and with no other Nationwide Conference sides left in the Trophy then the winners will undoubtedly be the favourites to go all the way.

Saturday sees us return to league action with the visit of Scarborough to the Interlink Express Stadium. Although our form in the Conference has been somewhat inconsistent this season, everyone at the club still  firmly believes that we are still well positioned to challenge for a play off place at the end of the season.  There have been one or two negative comments from various sources however we would now urge  everyone to get behind us as we make the final push in the next three months.

If you have never been to the club before then why not make that special effort this weekend?  Bring the family along!  We pride ourselves on offering a good standard of football in a friendly environment in which everyone is welcome!

If you are a regular then encourage your friends to come along too, word of mouth is the best form of advertising available!
