Trophy Draw Adds To Toil

ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 WORSKOP 1

ACCRINGTON Stanley will travel to Worksop on Tuesday night after failing to see off the Conference North side in the third round of  the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Stanley have stuttered in this competition but will be desperate to  reach the last eight. However Ronnie Glavin's side proved tough opposition and were  disappointed they didn't win against a below par Stanley.

Ben Saunders had the best chance of the first half with Rob Elliot having to finger tip over his header. But three minutes after the interval, Saunders was brought down in the area by Michael Welch and Tony Crane fired home the penalty.

John Coleman switched things round and David Brown had only been on the pitch four minutes when he rounded the keeper and slotted home. And he could have had a late winner when he was grounded in the area in injury time - but the referee booked him for diving.

"We didn't play well but it was compounded by the officials," said boss Coleman, whose side had three 'goals' ruled out for off-side.

"I was disappointed with some of the decisions. They got a penalty for a mis-timed challenge yet the same happens to us and we do not get a penalty. We did have an off day and we need to be more dominant."
