Stanley striker Paul Mullin took his first penalty in years and came close to giving the Reds a shock win over the Premier League new boys.

Mullin doesn't normally take spot kicks but has decided to try his luck this season and fired home easily in the 24th minute to put Stanley ahead.

But Wigan put on the big guns in the second half and Lee McCullough scored a wonder goals 26 minutes from time to deny Accrington a huge win in the pre-season campaign.
