HALIFAX 2 STANLEY 2

ACCRINGTON needed a last gasp free kick from Gary Roberts to extend theirunbeaten league run to seven games.

It looked like the table topping Reds would lose to their promotion rivals after Stanley conceded their first goals in more than 10 hours of football.

But hero Roberts drilled a low free kick into the bottom corner of the net to save the day.

It had looked good for the Reds when Rommy Boco spun in the area and opened the scoring on 27 minutes.

But, on the stroke of half time, ex-Red Rory Prendergast, on loan from Blackpool at the Shay, played in a superb cross which Lewis Killeen headed home.

Halifax went ahead after the break when sub John Grant touched a free kick past Rob Elliot in the area.

And it needed the late show from Roberts to snatch a point although Town keeper Adam Legzdins had to pull off a superb save to deny Andy Mangan in injury time.

"I thought we could have put the game out of sight in the first half after an initial ropey start," said boss John Coleman. "We got on top and then looked comfortable but it was a sloppy goal to let in for the equalier. They they dominated for long periods but we have got lots of belief in our
side and I always fancied Gary to score."
