ACCRINGTON STANLEY 2 BURTON 1

ACCRINGTON Stanley's name must be on the Conference Cup after they scored a last minute winner in a game they should have lost.

Burton were by far the better team and John Coleman said they were the best side he has seen at the Interlink this season.

They didn't allow the Reds to get into their normal flowing football and had countless chances on the home goal with Stanley limited to just a few.

But Coleman's side managed to tuck them away although he admitted: "We had a free lesson. If we play like that between now and the end of the season, we won't win the title."

Stanley took the lead against the run of play when a David Brown cross was headed home by Paul Mullin in their first attack on nine minutes.

From then on Nigel Clough's side bombarded Stanley's goal with only poor finishing and desperate defending keeping them out.

They finally got the goal they deserved on the stroke of half-time when Jon Shaw headed home a Aaron Webster cross.

Burton continued to dominate after the break and Coleman admitted he would have taken a point from the below par performance.

But then, in injury time, a disputed corner from Gary Roberts found the head of Mullin who blasted home the winner to make it 14 wins out of 16 games for the Reds.
