STANLEY are through to the last 16 of the FA Trophy after seeing off Conference South bottom club Carshalton at the second attempt.
Paul Mullin, after scoring the last gasp equaliser in Surrey which rescued the Reds, scored both the goals to take his tally to 11 goals for the season.
He pounced to slot home the rebound when Peter Cavanagh's penalty had been saved on 41 minutes and then struck after the break, following a good move with sub Rommy Boco.
It was harsh on the Robins who deserved to win at home but they were never in the game at the Interlink.
"We played some good stuff at times and Saturday showed, if we drop our guard, we can be punished by anyone," said boss John Coleman. "I hope it was a wake-up call.
"The crowd of 565 was slightly disappointing but perhaps they are not taking it as seriously as I am. We want to win the FA Trophy. What better way if we go out of this league than with the FA Trophy."
The Reds will now face Worksop at home on February 4 for a place in the quarter-finals.
