Super Six set to inspire

An inspirational series of six lectures by leading business figures is to be held in Bolton throughout 2006. Organised by the newly formed CBI Business Partnership, the events are free and open to Hyndburn business leaders, managers and entrepreneurs.
The series launches in February with Simon Topman, owner and chief executive of the world-leading Acme Whistles. Entitled ‘Whistle While You Work’, the talk is at The Bolton Ramada Hotel, Blackrod on 23 February at 6.30pm.
Says CBI Northwest Director, Damian Waters: “We are delighted to launch this series and have already lined up a world-class list of speakers from the business world — which includes Simon Topman and Sir Digby Jones — and I am sure that they will prove to be both inspirational and educational.
“We have drawn our speakers from various backgrounds, but the common theme for all six will be to share best practice, whether that is as successful entrepreneurs, leaders or celebrities.”
The Acme Whistle Company has been famous for over 125 years for manufacturing the Acme Thunderer range of whistles — the choice of referees, armed forces and sportsmen the world over. In recent years, this Birmingham company has been revitalised, thanks to Simon’s leadership. It has enjoyed new growth as a result of innovation in the product range supported by the development of marketing strategies and new export markets.
The full calendar for the series is Thursday Feb 23; Thurs May 18; Thurs June 22; Thurs Sep 7; Thurs Oct 19 and Thurs Dec 7. To reserve a place, or to find out more information about the CBI Business Partnership series, contact Tricia Calway on 015395 39800 or e-mail Christine@knowledge-link.co.uk
