Ladies Who Launch Success

Up-and-coming companies from across East Lancashire spent International Women's Day in Accrington mixing business with pleasure at a Ladies Who Launch exhibition.

The event was part of Hyndburn Enterprise Trust's Women into Business scheme which offers women free advice and help on turning their business dreams into realities.

A wide variety of local businesswomen attended the exhibition at the Hyndburn Voluntary and Community Resource Centre and spent an enjoyable day networking, sharing their experiences and, most importantly, selling their products.

Local companies Accrington and Rossendale College and Slater Public Relations were on hand along with business advisers from Hyndburn Enterprise Trust, to give vital pointers and advice on ways the women could improve their businesses.

Jo Evans, projects manager for the Trust, said: "All the women who attended gained a great deal from the day. As well as sharing experiences and gaining new ideas, all the women went away with new contacts and, most importantly, new business.

"Many women find the idea of going into business alone daunting, but the ladies who came to the event showed that you can succeed with your dream."

Exhibiting businesses included Hardman and Hall florists, Little Tinkers children's clothing, Best of Accrington websites, Jeanette Dawson photography, Messy Hen graphic design, Alena Textiles, Kreative Juice design, and Tribo Brazilian fashions.
